Clean Up Clam is a non-profit initiative restoring urban lakes and enhancing biodiversity.

Our Story

Clean Up Clam was born from a shared experience among our team of three high school students. During visits to urban areas across India, including the hometowns of our families, we witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by communities dealing with polluted and degraded water bodies. The struggle to maintain clean and healthy lakes was a stark reminder of the environmental neglect many urban areas face.

Grateful for the opportunities afforded to us, we felt compelled to take action and address this pressing issue. Clean Up Clam is our collective response to the need for sustainable, natural water filtration solutions in urban lakes. Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to clean, healthy water and vibrant aquatic ecosystems. By harnessing the natural filtration capabilities of clams, we aim to restore polluted lakes, reduce eutrophication and enhance biodiversity.

Together, we are committed to making a tangible difference in the health of urban water bodies. Join us in our journey to bring clean water, restored ecosystems and ecological balance to the lakes that need it most.

How do we work?

Technology & Innovation
Partnering with Local Communities

We use clams specifically for natural filtration, implementing cost-effective and environmentally friendly methods to improve water quality and ecosystem health in urban lakes.

Self-funded and resourceful, we rely on our own initiatives and the support of local volunteers to drive our projects, ensuring that our efforts are both effective and sustainable.

As high school students passionate about environmental conservation, we are dedicated to making a difference in urban lake restoration. Our approach focuses on practical solutions, community engagement, and sustainable practices to rejuvenate urban water bodies.

Finance & Investing

We work closely with local governments to secure permits and approvals, ensuring our projects comply with regulations and effectively improve living conditions for both marine life and the surrounding human community.
